WOOD 101 (10 feet 1 person)
WILL NOT SINK OR CAPSIZE - The 101 has been designed by a disabled sailor specifically with the needs of disabled people in mind but also being attractive to able-bodied people to encourage integrated sailing. The 101 cannot sink, even if its tub is flooded because of built in buoyancy and it will not capsize because of its (retractable) weighted wing keel. All this means you only get wet if you want to!
GOOD PERFORMANCE - Designed to offer a replace for the ageing, Access and 2.4 the 101 is very versatile. At only 3 meters long the dinghy tacks very quickly and easily and comes with a choice of rigs that are interchangeable in minutes.
VERY VERSATILE - For beginners or really heavy conditions put the mast box in the forward position and choose between three, four or five square meters of sail on a flexi-carbon mast on your single sail 'Laser' type rig... very simple controls.
Simply turning the mast box round allows you add a jib and then..... when you are ready for some real performance you clip on the screecher, a mix between a huge foresail and a spinnaker.
COMFORT!!! - For comfort (yes you are allowed to be comfortable when sailing) you can have almost any type of seat fitted, and a spray hood! There is also provision to plug in heated gloves, clothes or hot drink maker.
FREE BOATS!!! - The DSA plan to make a number of these dinghies available on free loan to disabled people who agree to use them on a regular basis and take part in DSA and club regattas or to sell at cost to those who like to own their boats.
